EzResume is a Chrome extension that helps users create, store, and download PDF resumes and cover letters directly within their browser.

Your privacy is important. This policy explains what data EzResume collects, how it is used, and how it is transmitted.

Information Collection and Use

Data Collected

• User Profile Information: Professional details you enter in the extension options (name, contact info, work experience, education, skills, projects, certifications)

How Data is Used

This data is used solely to generate PDF resumes and cover letters based on your profile. No data is collected for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes.

Data Transmission

EzResume does not transmit any data to external servers. All data processing occurs entirely within your browser. No data leaves your device.

Local Data Storage

EzResume stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in storage.local API:

• Your profile information (name, contacts, summary, skills, experience, projects, education, certifications)
• Your preferences (cover letter toggle, selected resume style)
• Generated resume drafts (if saved)

This locally stored data:

• Remains entirely under your control
• Is never sent to any external server
• Can be removed at any time by clearing the extension’s data or uninstalling the extension
• Is automatically removed if you uninstall the extension

Data Security

• All data is stored locally in Chrome’s secure extension storage
• No data is transmitted over any network
• No data is stored on external servers controlled by the extension developer

Permissions

EzResume requests only the permissions necessary for core functionality:

• Storage: To save your profile, preferences, and settings locally in your browser

This permission is used exclusively to enable resume and cover letter generation features and is not used to collect data for other purposes.

Data Retention

• Local Data: Stored until you clear the extension’s data or uninstall the extension
• No Server Data: No data is sent to any server, so no server-side retention applies

User Control

You can:

• View and edit your stored profile at any time through the extension settings
• Delete all locally stored data by clearing extension data or uninstalling the extension
• Choose when to generate a PDF (data is only processed when you click the generate button)

Changes to This Policy

If the privacy policy changes, updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
